We will start the day at 6:00 a.m. and pick you up from your hotel and drive to the starting point of the trek. While traveling in our private transportation you will be able to see different villages and the centers of potato and corn cultivation. The inhabitants of these places are mostly farmers and ranchers and the main source of income is to sell their products in the different markets and fairs in Cusco.
After an hour and fifteen minutes we will arrive at the village of Patabamba (3,800 m.a.s.l. / 12,467 ft.). Here you will see the traditional Andean families still wearing their traditional costumes, especially the children. It will be time to prepare our backpack and the clothes we will wear today.
we will download in direction of the valley and we will leave this warm town and we will arrive to the edge of the road and from there we will continue advancing and you will be able to see on the left side the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You will see in the distance Pisac (important Inca construction on the mountains). You can see the large agricultural centers that are on the sides of the Urubamba River and as we move forward we will reach a small village and from there we will begin a small climb to reach the highest point of the hike and from there you can see the mountains that adorn this beautiful landscape.
After 10 minutes downhill we will arrive at Pucamarca, an Inca construction and from there the guide will share the most important information about this place. After crossing the creek we will start walking on the original Inca Trail, and we will pass through small valleys and cross small bridges before arriving at a viewpoint where we will rest and you can enjoy the box lunch we have.
In a few minutes we will arrive at Huchuy Qosqo (3,650 m / 11,975 ft.). In Quechua language it means Little Cusco, there you will be able to see and explore the main sites while your guide shares with you the best information of this city built on the plateau of these mountains. The walk will be very educational and when it ends we will start descending a steep road to the village of Lamay (2,941 m.a.s.l. / 9. 649 ft.). There our transportation will be waiting for us.
